Tanker secondhand sales remained active with quality tonnage attracting strong buyer interest. In the VLCC segment, Seasilk, a 317,000-dwt vessel built in 2006, transacted at USD 57 million following scrubber retrofit work, reflecting the continued premium for emissions-compliant units in the fleet. Nordic Skier, an older 159,000-dwt unit built in 2005, sold at USD 40 million, indicating solid value retention for Suezmax tonnage despite age. The modern Suezmax cohort showed strong pricing, with Libera, a 158,000-dwt built in 2009, achieving USD 43.5 million for Greek buyers. Demolition pricing held steady across all South Asian markets in Week 12. India quoted USD 390 per ldt for bulkers and USD 410 per ldt for tankers. Bangladesh held at USD 410 per ldt for bulkers and USD 430–445 per ldt for tankers. Pakistan was assessed at USD 405 per ldt for bulkers and USD 415 per ldt for tankers. Turkey remained substantially lower at USD 270–280 per ldt across both asset classes. Reported activity included the bulk carrier Ocean Amazing sold to Bangladeshi breakers at USD 310 per ldt, and the tanker Wantong Summer achieving USD 433 per ldt to Bangladesh. Vessel availability was constrained across all markets as owners of commercially active tonnage showed limited appetite for recycling at current secondhand price levels.
